This narrow trowel is a traditional shape, often called a tulip trowel or perennial trowel. I’ve made this same design for 19 years. I started cutting the teeth in the side a few years ago and it’s a good improvement. Its narrow shape is very useful for working with perennials, planting, transplanting and dividing bulbs. The sharp teeth on the side increase the trowels ability to maneuver around a root for better removal or to dig through hard soil. Because it’s long and stout you can get some leverage against those tap roots. The narrow profile also makes it an excellent choice for urban gardeners or anyone who has a container garden.  It's also great for edging along the borders of flower beds! It is approx 13" long, 2" wide
